School Uniforms
Okay people, imagine walking into a school and everybody wearing the EXACT same thing! That is totally wrong. Im sure that almost every kid, definitily including me, will not agree with a school uniform policy. They think that our discipline problems and violence come from our clothes?? Really people come on. The things i want to talk about is that there would be no difference in any kid and we would not be able to express ourselves, that this decision should be left up to the kids in the school, and that the money used for the uniforms could go to something else besides wasteful skirts and khakis. They are definitily are not going to get the feedback they were hoping for.
So, I really cannot wrap my head around this. How in the world is dicipline problems related to clothes? My fields of experience towrds this is not good. Clothes help kids in school express themselves. It helps us define "us" and who we are. Kids who are bright and happy usually wear bright clothes. Kids who like attention wear things that get people's attention. Kids who want to look pretty where clothes that make them look pretty. So why would they want to take how we like to dress away from us and make us where something that makes every one look exactly the same? Doesnt make since huh?
The next thing I want to talk about is how this decision should be left up to the kids, because they are the ones who are going to be wearing them. The let us choose our class officers, our prom theme, and our own classes, so why not whether or not we get uniforms? I feel like their making us decode everything their saying. Their sending mixed messages.
The last thing i want to talk about is where are they getting the money for these things? And what about all the other things we could be spending the money on? Im sure the uniforms are not very cheap and we will have to have at least five of them each for the week. But wait, I bet their plan is to make the students families buy the uniforms.. what a surprise ( their full of them these days). Parents, or at least my parents will not be happy to spend all the extra (wasted) money on something i really DO NOT want to wear.
In conclusion to we are not going to be able to express ourselves, we will probably have no say in the situation, and that we are fixing to have to spend loads of money on these things are strongly, strongly disagree with having to wear school uniforms.
