Semester Test

I decided to do my blog on high school musical. Ive seen all of them so I know the story pretty well. Some people wonder why I like this show...,but it's pretty obvious. It's a love story about troy and gabriella, it has more popular wide-known characters than the other musicals, and I like how the movie is sat up.
The movie is sat up tp where there are cliques everywhere. Everyone belongs to one certain group. Theres the Smart kids, the skater kids and so on... then there is the basketball boys, who's leader is the coach's con, Troy. He is the big guy on campus who is really good at basketball. He has got everything going for him. During christmas break him and his parents go on a vacation to a ski resort where Troy and Gabriella end up singing together. They get eachothers' phone numbers then go their seperate ways. When school starts back up it turns out that Gabriella moves to Troy's school. They then decide to sing in the school musical which upsets everyone. Including the musical's stars, Ryan and Sharpay. When the basketball team figures out that Troy wants to sing rather than practice for the finals they arent too happy. Gabriella by now has joined the Math team and is practicing for their competition. The two teams are worried that their best team member is going to lose focus on their event so Monique and Chad come together and plan so that Gabriella and Troy wont like eachother anymore. It turns out to be a disaster and both teams feel bad about trying to wreck Troy and Gabriella's relationship. Then everyone is friends again. Troy and Gabriella end up singing, and the basketball team wins the finals.
I liked this musical better than musicals like the wiz, or Sound of music because it was a love story, kind of like Romeo and Juliet, and it had a happy ending. Also because it had widely known characters. It also reminded me of the other love story musicals like Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, and West Side Story because they are also love stories.
What I liked about this musical was that it kept me interested. Other musicals somewhat bored me. But High School Musical had fun music and good choreography. And i could relate because im in High School. I dont think there is anything I didnt like about this musical.
All in all the musical is one of the best ive seen and whats better about this is that there are High School Musical One, Two, and Three.

Acceptance Speech-Animal shelter

I would first like to of course say thank you. Thank you to all the people who have helped mine and these animals' dreams come true. It has been a rough long two years ever since i thought of the idea, but everything seemed to fall into place just as i had faith it would.
When everything first started, i was just a volunteer. Doing my small part in making a difference in these animals lives. I volunteered at three humane societies on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after work. On saturdays I went to Jonesboro to do adoptions at the mall, and every other month i went with other shelter volunteers to the National ASPCA meetings. As you can see i was very devoted to these animals. All animals actually, whether it be my dogs, my neighbors cat, or the homeless one's at the shelter. I had to be. They counted on me and the other volunteers with every ounce of hope in them.
May 14th, 2008 was the day that changed the life of me, and every local homless animal. It was the day that i was on my way to a conference in Little Rock, and i stopped by a small gas station to, you know, get some gas (laughs) and after paying for the gas, a decided to buy a lottery ticket. So i did, and on my way i went. I sat through the conference and on my wa home i turned on the radioo to listen to some music. About ten minutes into the music a commercial came on announcing the lottery winning ticket numbers. 5600912 they called out. And i could not believe what i had just heard. Did I just win the lottery?? No, no...i heard wrong..but then they repeated the numbers and BAM!. Yes. I just won the lottery. I pulled off to the next gas station and told them what just happened. They somehow didnt believe me but after scanning my card they were just as surprised as i was. One million dollars.
Now here I am two years later. So I guess you all know what I did with the money. I ended up getting 800,00 after taxes so I started right away. I wanted to build a no- kill shelter for 200 animals that had a recovery/rehab center for the ''needy'' animals. This shelter was going to be for dogs and cats. So the plan took six months to come up with and right after all the good stuff was taken care of I started building. To save money all the work was done voluntarilly by the good people of northeastern AR. One year later the 3,000 square foot shelter, capable to holding up to 50 healthy adoptable dogs and cats, and 50 dogs and cats that will soon be adoptable but need a little work in our rehabilitation center. The dogs have five acres with two dog pools and plenty of toys, and are boarded in the tiled 100 square foot rooms equipped with two toys, and two of the finest dog beds. The dogs eat Science Diet dog food that is donated by the makers of science diet at five hundred bags a month. The cats have a one thousand square foot cat room that is equipped just like the dogs, but with a claw scratching wall and a...well bunk house where the cats can nap. All the animals are given a name when they come into the shelter, if they dont have one, and we try our best to make the dogs and cats feel like this is their home. Donations have been accepted and fundraisers are done each month. If God can keep blessing us with the donations and the fundaraising money the shelter is taking in three thousand a month, not including the adoption fees. Our adoption fees are forty dollars for a dog, and thirty five for a cat.
The shelter has been great over the past six months and every spot has been filled for the animals. We have an average of two adoptions a day. People come from all over to adopt these animals as were told. Some animals who are not doing so well at the local Humane Society come to us for help in the rehab center where they do 35% better. As you all can see im very proud of this shelter, and thses animals. And once again i would like to give thanks to all the volunteers that come help out and all the wonderful people who helped build this animal sanctuary. Thank you.

School Uniforms
Okay people, imagine walking into a school and everybody wearing the EXACT same thing! That is totally wrong. Im sure that almost every kid, definitily including me, will not agree with a school uniform policy. They think that our discipline problems and violence come from our clothes?? Really people come on. The things i want to talk about is that there would be no difference in any kid and we would not be able to express ourselves, that this decision should be left up to the kids in the school, and that the money used for the uniforms could go to something else besides wasteful skirts and khakis. They are definitily are not going to get the feedback they were hoping for.
So, I really cannot wrap my head around this. How in the world is dicipline problems related to clothes? My fields of experience towrds this is not good. Clothes help kids in school express themselves. It helps us define "us" and who we are. Kids who are bright and happy usually wear bright clothes. Kids who like attention wear things that get people's attention. Kids who want to look pretty where clothes that make them look pretty. So why would they want to take how we like to dress away from us and make us where something that makes every one look exactly the same? Doesnt make since huh?
The next thing I want to talk about is how this decision should be left up to the kids, because they are the ones who are going to be wearing them. The let us choose our class officers, our prom theme, and our own classes, so why not whether or not we get uniforms? I feel like their making us decode everything their saying. Their sending mixed messages.
The last thing i want to talk about is where are they getting the money for these things? And what about all the other things we could be spending the money on? Im sure the uniforms are not very cheap and we will have to have at least five of them each for the week. But wait, I bet their plan is to make the students families buy the uniforms.. what a surprise ( their full of them these days). Parents, or at least my parents will not be happy to spend all the extra (wasted) money on something i really DO NOT want to wear.
In conclusion to we are not going to be able to express ourselves, we will probably have no say in the situation, and that we are fixing to have to spend loads of money on these things are strongly, strongly disagree with having to wear school uniforms.

I think that this is an important issue for every student who likes to listen to their ipods in school. It may actually help some kids on their schoolwork. Some kids use it just to help them concentrate or to just relax after an important test. If the kids who cheat with them want to cheat, then just let them. It will be nobody's loss or fault but theirs. So therefore I disagree with the point of the article. Banning ipods wont change anything. Kids will find a way to cheat.
